Who we are
ObviousCall LLC, an Arizona limited liability company ("ObviousCall," "we," "us") provides software for running tournaments and camps: registration, scheduling, officials, event staff, team communication and payouts. This policy covers obviouscall.com and the ObviousCall app. Questions go to hello@obviouscall.com.
What we collect
Account information. Name, email address, phone number, password or sign-in through Google, and the role you hold for an event.
Event information. Teams, rosters, schedules, game assignments, availability, check-ins, messages and the other records an event organizer or you enter.
Officials and staff. Profile details such as level, experience, resume and headshot, evaluations written about your work, and the tax information needed to pay you, such as a W-9.
Payments. Payments and payouts run through Stripe. Stripe collects card and bank details directly; we do not store full card or bank account numbers.
Device and usage information. Basic technical data such as IP address, browser type and error reports, used to keep the service running and secure.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use obviouscall.com and the ObviousCall app: which pages are visited, the general location (country and city) and device, how visitors arrived, and where they click, scroll or get stuck. These tools use cookies and similar technology. Clarity masks what you type and personal details in the app. We do not use advertising cookies or advertising networks.
Information organizers control
Organizers, meaning tournament directors, assigners and camp directors, enter and manage information about the teams, players, officials and staff in their events, and are responsible for having the right to do so. Requests about a team's or event's records may be referred to that event's organizer.
How we use it
To run the events you take part in: register teams, build schedules, assign officials, notify the people a change affects, and pay the people who worked.
To send service messages by email, and by text message only if you have agreed to receive texts.
To prepare tax forms such as 1099s where the law requires them.
To support, secure and improve the service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Text messages
We send texts only to people who opt in. Consent to texts is not a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies with your events, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Mobile numbers and text opt-in consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing.
Scout and AI
Scout, the assistant built into ObviousCall, uses an AI provider to draft schedules, messages and evaluation text from information already in the event. Drafts are not sent, published or released until a person approves them. We use AI providers under terms that do not allow them to train their models on your data.
Who can see what
Information is visible to the people who need it for the event: an organizer sees their event, an official sees their own assignments, a team sees its own schedule.
Evaluations are visible to an official only after the camp or event releases them. Notes marked private stay with staff and are never shown to the official.
We share information with service providers that run parts of the service for us, including hosting, databases, payments (Stripe), text messaging, email delivery, AI drafting and error monitoring. They may use it only to provide those services.
We may disclose information when the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.
Cookies
The app uses cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember settings and keep the service secure. The site and the app also use analytics cookies from Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, described above. We do not show ads and do not use advertising networks. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings.
Young players
ObviousCall is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 should not create accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child under 13. Youth player information is entered and managed by a parent, guardian, coach or organizer, who confirms they have the parent or guardian permission needed to provide it. If you believe a child's information was provided without permission, email us and we will delete it.
How long we keep it
We keep account and event information while your account is active and as long as needed to run past events, meet tax and payment record requirements, and resolve disputes. Payment and tax records are kept for the periods the law requires.
Your choices
You can view and update your profile in the app. You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your information by emailing hello@obviouscall.com. Some records, such as payment and tax records, may need to be kept after an account is closed. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor them.
State privacy rights
Residents of California and other states with privacy laws may have the right to know what personal information we collect, and to access, correct, delete and receive a copy of it. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We honor Global Privacy Control signals. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. To make a request, or to appeal a decision on one, email hello@obviouscall.com. We may need to verify your identity, and an authorized agent may make a request on your behalf.
Where data is processed
ObviousCall is operated from the United States, and information is stored and processed in the United States by us and our service providers.
Other websites
Links to other sites, such as payment or event pages run by others, are governed by those sites' own privacy policies.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit, access is limited by role and by organization, and payment details are handled by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify you as the law requires if a breach affects your information.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will update the date above and tell account holders before the change takes effect.
First event live in ten minutes.
Free to start. Build the event and, depending on your playbook, open it to teams, post your games to officials, or both. Nothing to sign, nobody to call.
